We love our church! It ain’t perfect, nothing presided over by man can be. The Idea of Radius is moving out in ever widening circles to change our world through visible and tangible acts of love. Everyone, and I mean everyone, is welcome; political ideology, religious beliefs or unbeliefs, race, creed, colour, social status, raiment, odour, sexual preference, etc.. No political positions taken from the pulpit.
As far as the word, I believe that God is inerrant, and that the original God-breathed word was inerrant. However, every time it has been touched by man in translation or commentary, it has been changed, especially when the translator/commentator includes a specific ecumennical spin. Therefore, to eliminate error takes study, takes honest work. As one of my mentors said, we have to come to scripture without preconceived notions, I would add, looking for His truth and not ours. I have been studying, writing and teaching for over 40 years, and realize each time I go to the word just how much I don’t know! For instance, as I was working an article today I wrote about the seven points of agreement for unity, and was inspired to look further at the context. True unity requires people who walk in humility, patient gentleness and loving understanding, these are the ones who are eager to maintain spiritual unity by the bond which is peace. This is walking worthy of God’s call. We are all to remember that we have the gift of Christ through grace, through nothing we did or could have done. We are to recognize and follow operating ministries, which is God’s gift to the church, so that we can mature spiritually and stand strong and sure as we become more and more like Christ. That’s it, that’s the how of spiritual unity.
