About the Author

This book tells the story of my journey through different parts of the world over the past sixty years. I titled it An Ordinary Life… well sort of because, as I was living those moments, my life seemed quite ordinary.

It was only when I began sharing some of my adventures with others that I realized perhaps my life wasn’t quite so ordinary after all. In that realization, I came to understand and appreciate how God had been present throughout my life—even during the times when I failed to recognize it, or simply refused to believe. From the earliest days, I was taught to believe that God was with me no matter what.  The eldest of three sons, I was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1960.  It was 1968 when my father decided that our family should move to Canada, the country of his birth.  We stayed in Victoria with dad’s parents for about a year but then settled in the Vancouver area.  It was in this area, known as the lower mainland, that I was raised from the age of 8, and schooled up through my high school graduation. Post high school, I traveled extensively throughout Canada.

In 1984 I was introduced to a biblical research ministry and took a class that redirected my life.  Since then, I’ve spent 3 different one-year periods on the mission field establishing new churches—2 when I was single and one with my wife, Diana–, been on two mission trips to Cuba, spent 3 years in a Christian leadership training program (with Diana) and served in various capacities in different churches.  Outside of ministry, I’ve also started successful businesses in 3 cities, and managed others.  With Diana’s encouragement, I completed my bachelor’s degree and earned my professional teaching certificate.

On the personal side, I married a beautiful, incredible woman in 1991and we have 2 wonderful children together.  Life currently has Diana and me living in St. Petersburg, FL, where I teach English to at-risk teenagers.
